Mouse aim assist Rainbow Six Siege: what a virtual pad does on PC — and what it does not
Rainbow Six Siege — Siege X in its 2025–2026 form — is the big shooter where the honest answer is not “free assist”. Siege’s controller aim assist belongs to the console pool; PC matchmaking does not hand a pad those values. Inputize still turns your mouse into a virtual Xbox 360 controller, so here is exactly what that changes in Siege, and what it cannot.
Does mouse get aim assist in Rainbow Six Siege on PC?
The short answer, and why this title is different.
A raw mouse never receives aim assist — and Siege is stricter than most of its genre: on PC the game does not apply its controller aim-assist values in the PvP pool either. Those values belong to the console pool (they show up in the training-style content too), where a controller is the expected input. If you came here hoping a virtual pad unlocks pull-to-target in Siege’s PC lobbies, that is not what you get: the game classifies the input as a controller and stops there.
What the pad does change is everything around the aim. Siege reads analog stick input instead of raw mouse axes, so response curves, deadzone, circularity and anti-recoil sit between your hand and the game — while Siege’s own Settings → Controls keep ownership of sensitivity, ADS sensitivity and the deadzone the game applies. That layer, plus the per-game profile, is what you are buying here.
The anti-cheat half of the picture matters more in this title than in most: Ubisoft runs MouseTrap against hardware spoofing devices on console, and Siege runs BattlEye on PC. Both are covered below, without promises.
How it works
What actually happens between your mouse and the game.
Mouse becomes a stick
Inputize routes your mouse through a virtual Xbox 360 controller, so the game sees analog stick input instead of raw mouse axes.
No assist on PC
In Siege’s PC pool the game does not grant controller aim assist, so the pad changes how your input arrives, not how much the game aims for you. In titles that do grant it, the same setup receives it.
Shaped, not raw
Response curves, deadzone and circularity control how mouse speed maps to stick deflection — the layer that decides tracking feel.
Per-game profiles
Each game keeps its own curve, sensitivity and hotkey set. Switch by pressing F8 and play.
Setting it up for Rainbow Six Siege
Four steps, about two minutes.
Install — run Inputize, let it set up the virtual driver with one click, press F8 to activate. The overlay confirms the pad is live.
If Siege was already running when you activated the pad, restart it once: the game enumerates controllers at launch. Then confirm in the game’s controller settings that a pad is detected — and decide for yourself whether you want Siege’s own Aim Assist option enabled.
Tune in a match or in Training: the response-preview graph makes the mouse-to-stick mapping visible while you drag the sliders. Save the result to the Siege profile and the app auto-switches when the game is focused.
The honest part
What Inputize does — and what it does not.
Nothing in Inputize touches Rainbow Six Siege files, memory or processes — it only changes how Windows reports your input through a signed virtual driver. Inputize is software on your PC; it is not a XIM or a Cronus Zen device.
Siege polices this category more actively than most: MouseTrap detects spoofing hardware on console and slows it down with added latency, and BattlEye guards PC. Whether an anti-cheat distinguishes a signed software virtual controller is Ubisoft’s decision alone — we cannot and will not promise immunity, and we do not promise aim assist the PC pool does not give. Buy for the input control and the per-game profiles; read the rules and use responsibly.
Questions
Short answers to what people ask most.
Does Rainbow Six Siege have aim assist on PC?
No — not in the PC pool. Siege's controller aim assist is a console-pool feature (it also appears in the training-style content); in PC matchmaking the game does not apply those assist values to a pad, and players who move from the console pool into the PC pool report the assist disappearing. We could not verify assist for a virtual pad on PC, so we do not claim it.
So what does Inputize change in Rainbow Six Siege?
How your input is read — not how much the game helps you. Siege sees a standard virtual Xbox 360 controller instead of raw mouse axes, and response curves, deadzone, circularity and anti-recoil sit between your hand and the game. Siege's own Settings → Controls still own sensitivity, ADS sensitivity and the deadzone the game applies. The same licence covers every other title where assist does exist.
Is Inputize the same as XIM or Cronus in Siege?
No. XIM and Cronus are hardware devices that spoof or script input, and Ubisoft's MouseTrap exists specifically to detect spoofing devices on console and penalise them with added latency. Inputize is a Windows application that presents mouse and keyboard as a standard virtual Xbox 360 controller through a signed driver — a different mechanism — but on PC BattlEye is still the arbiter of what is acceptable.
Will I get banned in Rainbow Six Siege for using it?
Only Ubisoft can answer that. Inputize does not touch Siege files, memory or processes, holds no cheats, and works purely through a signed virtual input driver. We never claim immunity from an anti-cheat — read the rules and decide for yourself.
Do I need to change Siege config or settings?
No config editing is needed. Siege supports controllers on PC out of the box — start Inputize, install the driver if first run, press F8 to activate, and the game sees a controller. If Siege was launched before F8, restart it once; some titles ignore controllers that appear after launch.
Does it work through the Xbox app on PC (Remote Play / Game Pass)?
Yes — the Xbox app on Windows reads any standard XInput controller, and Inputize's virtual pad is exactly that, so it works both in Remote Play streaming from your console and in Siege or Game Pass titles launched through the app. It also runs alongside a real controller: move the mouse and the app picks up the virtual pad, pick up the controller and it takes over.
Is there a trial or is it subscription?
No subscription — €19.99 once with all updates included. Inputize is a digital key delivered instantly: all sales are final and the license is non-refundable, an unused key included.
Can it run simultaneously with other input tools?
We recommend running Inputize alone for this use case, since several tools competing for the same virtual slot is how instability happens. A single virtual pad, one driver, one engine — that is the supported configuration.
One payment. Lifetime license.
